Secure Marine Communication Systems
Based on in-house cryptographic research and original secure data communication system architecture with custom public key infrastructure (PKI) and remote configuration management, Cybernetica has designed, developed and deployed several IP network centric communication and monitoring systems for application within national marine navigation safety infrastructure. The IP based communication and marine radio traffic monitoring solution provides secure computer network based access to marine VHF radio stations installed along the northern coastline of Estonia, allowing multiple operators at any geographic location to utilize same radio network resources. Functionality is provided to receive and send digital selective calling (DSC) standard based messages, and movement/status information automatically broadcasted by Automatic Identification System (AIS) messages by the ships. Additional benefits arising from using such system are improved situation awareness of relevant authorities, efficient infrastructure untilization/management, and unlimited possibilities for analysis of the events and communications recorded in the system database.
GoFREP (Gulf of Finland Reporting System)
Gulf of GoFREP - a vessel traffic monitoring and reporting system for the Baltic Sea countries, with a goal to secure vessel traffic and to protect the marine ecosystem of the Gulf of Finland. Cybernetica developped and implemented a software/hardware solution for establishing automated information exchange between the ships and the shore-centre using the Automated Information System (AIS) transponders and computer controlled marine VHF transceiver voice/data network.

VHF for VTS
The Cybernetica VHF+AIS system solution currently marketed as "VHF for VTS" is widely scalable, making it possible to offer several configurations depending on customer requirements - from a sophisticated countrywide network to individual port installations. Continuing development is foreseen to enable integration with other existing or customer-specific telecom networks (TETRA, etc).
