The predecessor to the Department of Information Security Systems was established in 1993 and supported by the state information security program.  Since then, the Department of Information Security Systems has participated in several programs initiated by the government including the following:

Our scientists are world renowned due to their research achievements in information security and cryptography and are involved in many projects.  Since 1998, Cybernetica AS has partnered with the University of Tartu and opened an office in Tartu.
